Pre-Striping Surface Cleaning

Parking lot power washing before striping, so the paint sticks

Free EstimateSan Mateo & the Peninsula · 7 Days

Paint only bonds to what's under it, and a lot that's striped over dirt, oil and loose material is a lot that's re-striped early. Before we lay out or repaint a parking lot, we power wash it: the stalls degreased where cars leak, the old chalk and grit blown off, the gum and debris cleared, and the whole surface cleaned and left to dry. It's the step that decides whether the new lines last one year or four. We do it as part of every striping job that needs it, and as a standalone service for lots another contractor is about to stripe.

Our Process

1

Inspect

We check the oil, the old paint and the surface condition, and price the wash — with the striping on the same sheet if you want it.

2

Degrease

Every stall gets degreaser on the oil spots; paint won't hold over oil.

3

Wash

The lot is surface-cleaned in sections, the debris removed, the surface rinsed.

4

Dry & Stripe

Once fully dry — usually the next morning — the layout and painting begin.
