ADA Access Aisle Striping

Hatched, lettered access aisles beside every accessible space

Free EstimateSan Mateo & the Peninsula · 7 Days

The access aisle is the striped zone beside an accessible space that gives a wheelchair user room to get out of the vehicle. It's the part most often missing, too narrow, or parked in. California requires a 5-foot aisle at a standard accessible space and an 8-foot aisle at a van space, hatched with diagonal lines and marked NO PARKING in 12-inch letters, painted in blue or white and kept clear. We stripe access aisles to those dimensions, add or widen them where the existing layout is short, and tie them into the accessible route to the building.

Our Process

1

Measure

We measure the existing spaces and aisles against current code and flag anything short.

2

Layout

Aisles chalked at the correct width, on the passenger side where the code requires it.

3

Paint

Border, hatching and lettering painted in traffic paint, with the space's blue field if it needs one.

4

Record

Photographed for your compliance file once cured.
